Got a couple of these for a backpacking trip with my 10 and 12 year old. They're legit packs with a build quality just as good as a high quality adult pack. No, they're not the lightest, but considering the fact that it's simply an adult pack of this type in a bit smaller size (and adjustable shoulder straps), it makes sense. If that's what you have in mind, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this.
