Description: Medium to large apples are greenish-yellow overlaid with some red; mild subacid, aromatic yellowish flesh; typically ripens in September.
Habit: Grafted onto semi-dwarfing rootstock (MM111); grows 12' to 15' high; space trees 15-20' apart; early to mid-season blooming period.
Culture: Prefers full sun and ordinary garden soil; requires an additional pollinator (apple variety) for improved fruit production and fruit shape.

This English apple variety was introduced around 1832 and has a similar flavor to Esopus Spitzenberg, which was one of Thomas Jefferson's favorite apples.
