John Trumbull worked for 33 years on his masterpiece, The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, July 4th, 1776. He began the painting at Thomas Jefferson's residence in Paris, painting many of the signers from life. In 1823, it was engraved by Asher Durand, and Jefferson displayed the print in the Hall at Monticello. Handsomely framed in antique gold wood; 24"h x 34"w. Made in the U.S.A.
